Victorian Architecture
The stately mansions that line Danville’s Millionaires’ Row and nearby side streets can be admired not only for their awe-inspiring grandeur and brilliant architecture, but also for the insight they provide into customs of the era in which many of them were built – the Victorian Era. In this piece, guide Susan Stilwell has selected architectural examples from a few of her favorite homes in the neighborhood, and she uses them to provide a glimpse into what life was like for the early denizens of these homes.
